I saw this movie yesterday night. I can safely say this is the best bollywood movie i have ever seen. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Amitabh Bachchan have created magic on screen. The only problem with the movie is that half of the movie is in English, so it may not be a blockbuster in India. But i think everyone who is interested in seeing a bollywood movie should see this one because this movie is by far the best effort by bollywood. Cinematography is at par with the best of Hollywood movies. Background score is excellent and appropriate. Acting of Amitabh, Rani and young girl(Ayesha) is just mind blowing. Acting of supporting actors is also very good. I don't have words to describe the brilliance of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I don't think getting an Osar in Foreign film category is the highest honour an Indian movie can get but still the award is very prestigious. If Black cannot get this award then i don't think any bollywood movie can get it for at least 10 years. Bhansali is a master story teller and i think this is by far his best work. I hope that he does not stagnate like Ramesh Sippy(Sholay), Mehboob Khan(Mother India) and K Asif(Mughel-E-Azam). I hope this movie does well overseas (which is a very big market for bollywood movies nowadays). I have not seen Mother India but i have seen Lagaan, Sholay, Mughal-E-Azam, Pyaasa and some other great Hindi movies but i feel "Black" will achieve what these movies never did. Sicerely i never expected that bollywood can make such a movie. This movie is sheer class. I hope this is just the beginning for Sanjay. Bollywood makes more movies than Hollywood but 99.99% of the movies are total crap. So if you have seen a bollywood movie and you think bollywood can't make a good movie then please see this one. I am sure you will change your opinion. Please see this movie, it is just brilliant.

i think this is the best low budget movie i have seen for a long time. The story is very simple but the director has presented it in a very refreshing manner. The acting is good. Rahul Bose is excellent as usual. Kareena surprisingly has given a good performance. All the supporting actors are also good. I don't know why the directors in India don't make more such movies. I think there should be a quality board for Hindi cinema which monitors the quality of movies. Movies like "Ab Bas" should not be allowed. I think bollywood should try to find a right mix between movies like Devdas and Chameli. And perhaps make movies like "LAGAAN" in every 5 years.
