Classificação de rockphiler
Not understanding the negativity here. I was thoroughly entertained and binged it up until 5:40 in the morning. Sets, costumes, script, continuity, acting were great. Especially the acting of Jason Clarke. There was nothing flat about the performances. Seems many reviewers here are disappointed to learn that their image of Catherine was not what they had been taught. As an avid Romanov scholar, I think Mirren and HBO put forth an exciting but difficult love story.
The direction here is may not be what sticks out but it surely is the mortar. Top drawer casting and acting performances. The movie stays true to the book. Mark Ruffalo's dual performances are just fantastic. I went into this with negativity since I didn't particularly care for the book. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised.
If you enjoy spectrum fits for a couple of hours, be my guest. The story has a hard time presenting itself behind the constant grunts and moans, even after three tries. This movie makes a mockery of Faulkner. Do not waste a moment on this.
