Classificação de AlienRobotZombieOverlord
This show has hooked me enough to keep watching, but it's really irritating in some ways. The actors are charming -- they have really good chemistry despite the poor writing, and I feel like they could have really made something with this series if they had a better storyline to work with. The action and energy is good, but the plot is SOOOOOO convoluted, it keeps getting in its own way.
And have fun reading subtitles -- it feels like half of the dialogue is in Russian, which just seems unnecessary most of the time. (I mean, these Russian guys are in the U. S., so they could have them speaking English with a Russian accent like most shows. Seriously, there is a LOT of Russian dialogue. It's exhausting.)

The dialogue and editing are kind of all of the place on this one, to be honest. However, for anyone interested in high-concept science fiction, this is a must-see. It is really ground-breaking in a lot of ways, introducing a lot of really fascinating story twists and turns. While reminiscent of great techno-noirs like Dark City, The Matrix, and Inception, it definitely charts its own course -- wrapping corporate espionage and personal intrigue around a solid core of technology-driven science fiction.
The visuals are quite stunning throughout, as the director (who also did the wonderful low-budget sci-fi horror Cube) sets the tone with ample use of the color palette, lighting, scenery, and unusual tech. The movie throughout seems like a dream sequence or virtual reality simulation, reminding me of some of the "hacker" films of the '90s -- I'm not sure if that was intentional, and at times it was jarring, so I'm not sure it really worked as intended.
From an acting standpoint, the performances are just OK, with Lucy Liu being the only real standout; she steals the show here, and I wish there was more of her in the film.
Overall, I think this film could have benefitted from a bigger budget and more polish, but as a piece of science fiction I would definitely recommend.

A lot of the reviews that are harshly negative against this show unfairly compare it to other talk shows and complain about what it does "wrong". I am sorry, but those people just don't get it - this is not meant to be just like all the other talk shows and do everything "right". Guests aren't going to talk about their projects. Callers are going to get hung up on. The jokes are going to fall flat, sometimes intentionally and ironically. The topics are random and don't expect to really get anything useful out of them. This is performance art of the absurd. I remember watching David Letterman when his show first came on - I was a young teen at the time, and I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen, but most people thought it was idiotic. It developed a cult following because there was an intelligence behind the seemingly random and bizarre humor. John Mulaney's show is quite different in execution, but it reminds me of that feeling - it's chatting a fresh course, something that's really never been done before. The first time I watched it, I wasn't sure if I liked it, but I honestly couldn't stop tuning in, and it keeps growing on me. Now I can't believe there's only 2 episodes left, and I'm praying Netflix renews it!
