I really liked the first movie. Good story amazing characters who were true to their role and events and story, in here however Ji Fa who lost his brother and his father was tortured by the king, and was a formidable kings guard somehow now has forgotten his battle training and that his brother was killed and cooked to be fed to his father, who was also imprisoned, and acts like a bumbling idiot, and feels sorry for the enemy leader and can not even defend himself against a woman, half his size. The rest of the characters are the same. I could not stomach to see to the end and left the cinema. What a shame that they did not carry the characters through instead tried to be make caricature of the first movie !!

Acting is amazing story is very good. Historical parts add so much to the characters and the atmosphere of the movie. Human emotions portrait here are genuine and heart felt. Few reviewers complain, repeated scenes they have seen in other movies and work. I don't think these people appreciate how similar people and human behaviors are. We as people are more similar than different, specially in same culture and languages. I think the director has done an amazing job.

One reviewer compares the movie to "the notebook" I guess you always get one. The similarity is like comparing Micky Mouse to Macbeth, (notebook being MM). If you like to watch Tongue Wrestling and Bed Gymnastics go and watch what comes out of HW they equate love to bodily fluid exchange. In here the human emotions are more real. I strongly recommend it.

This so called anime is made by N not a Japanese production. I know this site will not publish this, since they decide what you should read and what i am allowed to say, that is the way with our media isn't it?

I live in an English speaking country, not sure why, I have always watched Anime and I have seen over time Japanese Anime changing to resemble the western pattern, of story and culture. I find this sad.

Back to this review. The story is about a self centered teenage girl (you might as well watch frozen or similar). Girl Characters have become so stereo typed, you no longer get variety anymore. Few years ago you could watch Anime's like Nausicaa, or Chehiro or Patema, 3 films with three Girl Characters, totally different personalities. They all had failings and strength as people normally have.

In here or similar new Animes they all come from the same tiresome mold. (watch Suzume exactly same character/ personality for the lead) So Character is two dimensional and boring. The supporting role is the same docile, inconsequential boy supporting role who adds no value to the role.

The story and human emotions are simplified to the barest minimum so my dog can understand and follow it. Anime has lost the deep and meaningful stories and emotions like in "When Marine was there" or the philosophical content of " Ghost in the shell" or "Only Yesterday" all lead girl characters with totally different personalities and amazing deep content. My advice to N is leave Japanese Anime alone. Let us have some alternative to your run of the mill factory produced pasteurized homogenized brain numbing content and productions.

If you are after a true Japanese Anime Don't waste your time with this go and watch Momo e no Tegami, about a girl same age same time period only this one the character is delightful and story is heart warming. And you will never forget the character names.
