Overall I liked the characters and they are well acted. ( given the script they had to work with ) my issues was the deliverances which must have been directed in such a way that just makes it feel fake.
The speed in which the dialogue flows is so fast and rigid that in no way does any of the story feel believable. I understand a script is to be followed and therefore the actors know what to say next, but as the audience you're not meant to feel this. As a result it took to much away from the story and annoyed me.....as for the story, which is also unbalanced and dragged out, it more importantly lacks credibility. The first episode tries too hard to establish the foundation of the season, if this is how a special division of the police are formed then I might as well just form one myself.... How we are meant to believe the hap-hazard blasé way in which they just create a new sub division is laughable. I really hope it isn't this unprofessional and care free. I wanted to like this series as the main character is interesting and enjoyable, even though he is hard to like, and his Syrian sidekick is even more likeable and probably my favourite part of the show. But again how he becomes part of the team would just never happen.
Hopefully season two can keep some of the main elements but just tone down unrealistic perfection with the dialogue. Especially from the smaller roles which really didn't work... most people in general but especially when confronted with police are just not that cocky, confident and actor-like.

Without doubt this is a great story but after reading the book (son of Hamas ) which is in my opinion so much better, this doesn't explain in depth his decision to go against Hamas which I found frustrating as it looks here that he did it without much thought. Whereas in the book it give more details about the decision, which I think it's a crucial part of the story.
I understand that condensing 8hrs into 1:30hr is difficult, which often results in books being better, but this part left me feeling frustrated as others might not fully understand his actions. Which, were/are incredible considering his upbringing. The West can only hope that more young people like Mosab can see the bigger picture, in that Islam can never lead to world peace, and as he explains even if it were to happen that all none believers were eradicated, then all that would remain would be internal fighting and conflict as sadly it is baked into the belief system. I understand much more about the complexities of the region and will be far less heisty to judge anyone from any part of the Middle East as a result. They truly live in such complex situations and anyone that hasn't been there or experienced it for themselves can only imagine how hard it is to navigate through. I thank my lucky starts that I was born where I was born and into a world of almost zero conflict. Everyone has their right to fight in a just cause but when death and destruction is at the forefront of mindsets I fear long term peace is an unreachable dream.

For those claiming they "know" Adnan was and still is guilty are just as bad as the unbelievable stubborn and outright corrupt US "justice" system. I've listen to the podcast and I've watched this documentary and whilst it may have been one sided I'm baffled to see how anyone can be so convinced of his guilt. There is literally nothing that proves he did anything, other than a pathological criminal and liar whose story changed daily. I've seen many other cases in which the prosecution do everything they can to pin a murder on someone and ignore glaring holes and inconsistencies and seemingly how zero interest in finding the truth simply to clear it from their desk and move on. This crazy idea to get someone to plead guilty despite maintaining their innocence for 20 odd years, simply to prevent them from suing the state for time spent in prison it madness. I'm infuriated that people can't see past the collusion and hell bent evil simply to avoid admitting they got it wrong and worse knowingly locked someone up with zero hard evidence. Equally infuriating is that this documentary ended with so much more to be told, including that Adnan did get realised and explain more about this. Hopefully someone will pick up where this finished.
