I loved the series, especially season 1 and 2 with the great Jimmy Perez.
Already with the six-part seasons the scenario got weaker and weaker.
And now. After Jimmy Perez left the series, the story is a complete disaster.
Watching those two unbelievable 'gangsters' is so painful.
I stopped watching. What a shame, killing a perfect series.
Another reviewer wrote and I completely agree: Way to ruin one of my favorite shows. I still love the other characters, but I can't stand this new DI. I'll just be rewatching seasons 1-7. Perez was flawed, but caring, an important part of the community. Calder is nasty, hateful, rude and self-centered. The addition of her character makes the show so insufferable, that it isn't worth watching, even for the long term likable regulars.

what a strange site is IMDb. How can you deliver such a low votes to a nearly perfect TV-movie, The end of the site to my belief.
Rolf Lassgård plays perfectly his roll as Kurt Wallander, and he is more in control than the book character. Now you really believe this world.
And it is really beautiful done. Director and crew deliver a perfect job. And they reward the viewer.
What is left is a brilliant TV-movie, with a stunning Rolf Lassgård, and also the rest of the cast has perfect contributions.
I read the book before but this is one of the few occasions that film is better than book. A big 9!

I saw this brilliant drama-piece a long time ago and it bound me to my chair. I couldn't move. It is so dramatic and meaningful, and full of betrayal. A choice of life and death never before so condemning in film registered as Jean Pierre Melville himself. He was here recounting his memory as a underground member.
Never before I saw a movie where betrayal had such an impact. I wanted to scream and to help them, but Melville does a little about that.
Spend a lot of nights with bad dreams and a complete loss of human insight.
This masterwork deserves the maximum score. 10*
