I am old enough to have seen this movie first run. At the time I was blown away by this film because it had every thing in it any city kid would want to be able to do, which mostly was race horses and have a pretty girl interested in the same thing as a friend. Since this film was so important to me I feel compelled to correct an error in the cast listing by IMDb. Currently Jeanne Crain's character is listed as Char Bruce which is correct, but June Haver's character is listed as Cri-Cri Bruce which would make them sisters which they are not! Cri-Cri is the daughter of Godaw Boole, the owner of the horse farm where Char's father is the head trainer, soooooo Cri-Cri's last name should be Boole, not Bruce! I have no idea how this casting error crept into IMDb's data base, but as a movie fan interested in accuracy I'm requesting that IMDb correct this mistake. I know I am right in this because I've seen this film at least 20 times over the years and have read the book that the film is based on (The Phantom Filly).

GIGLI is obviously a takeoff on RAINMAN and if you keep this in mind the movie makes a lot more sense. J-Lo's character seems to me to be a Bi-sexual, that was established in the scene with Gigli's mother. Also, I think the whole yoga scene will become a classic because J-Lo's speech on her character's perception of the power women have in a sexual relationship was right on. Was the end-scenes a little sappy - Yes, but I think it did relieve the tensions of the rest of the story and placed the film in the Black Comedy category. As we all know Black Comedies are very hard to do right. Christopher Walkin and Al Pacino's cameos are a little distracting because they are so well known and powerful actors.

Can any body tell me why Bridget Fonda is not credited in this film. She had been in several films and credited aplenty by the time "Drop Dead Fred" was released in 1991. Maybe she was doing the Producer or the Director a favor, it's a mystery! If anyone has any other Ideas I would like to hear them or I quess it should be see them since this is print. As far as the film itself is concerned I quess it just wasn't my cup of tea. I thought it was a waste of Phoebe Cates, Marsha Mason, and Carrie Fisher. It seemed that the Director and/or the Screenwriter tried for something and didn't quit make it, and I would like to have seen Robin Williams in the role of Fred.
