I chose this movie because it's set in Florida where I live. There was mention of a storm (why?) and nothing more came of it, at least not in the time I wasted watching as much as I did.
This is one of the worst excuses for a movie that I've ever seen. The acting is horrible--stilted, stiff, emotionless--and the main character has lost her dog and doesn't even seem to care. She finds that her dog had been in a shelter a week ago (why didn't she check the shelters?) and had been adopted. Her argument with the shelter worker to break the rules and tell her who adopted the dog was so bad I stopped watching. She didn't deserve that dog, anyway.
Life is too short for such drivel.

This was supposed to be a movie about Godzilla. If you want to watch a post-WWII movie about a kamikaze's angst, endless dialog, drama, everyone else's angst, more drama, more endless dialog, more angst, no action, no excitement, endless dialog, and more drama, you might enjoy this. Maybe that accounts for so many positive reviews. I can't say the same. I wanted to watch a Godzilla movie. The last 20 minutes of the film looked like it would get exciting with an appearance by Godzilla (except that he looked like a cartoon character), but it didn't and most of that was the rolling of the credits in Japanese. Thank goodness for the fast-forward button.
I really enjoyed this movie. It was a sweet story with a bit of a twist on the old Cinderella story. The characters were well-cast and the story flowed nicely. Even though I had a good idea how it would end, it was still enjoyable and held my attention throughout. The only reason I didn't give it 10 stars was that I had such a hard time getting past Rob's hair. It looked like a bad wig. Was it just a bad wig, or poor styling? I realize this movie is 9 years old, but still. I don't know anyone who had such strange looking hair, even back then. All in all, I spent an hour and a half with a movie that has done Hallmark proud.
