This is a bad shark movie, so I went in expecting it to be poorly acted, with a really dumb story, and for it to be cheap looking. But much to my surprise this has decent acting, an okay story, and it doesn't look too cheap. But the most important part is the sharks, and in this genre I feel it is very important that the atmosphere should either be scary or goofy. This is neither, your grandma wouldn't be scared and the effects and kills barely register. Meanwhile the characters are nothings and the story is blah.

This completely washed over me without leaving the faintest trace of an impact. I had already forgotten 95% just mere hours later. The worst kind of crappy shark movie: a non-entity.

The first 10min were enjoyably bad, and the enjoyable part drops off from there. Very stupid and jokey send-ups of "social influencers" that lack any tact or satire, annoying actors delivering annoying lines in front of a greenscreen jungle, and the worst CGI dog attacks you can imagine.

I can see if this is the type of movie you are looking for, a really dumb Sci-Fi movie of the week you can laugh at, then you might find this satisfying, as all the actors are attractive Hollywood types and the movie has a "decent" budget (I use the term "decent" very loosely). But for me this was extremely hard to sit through, even as a background watch.

For a slasher with a little bit of Final Destination and The Descent thrown in, this should have been much more enjoyable. Instead there were a lot of missed opportunities, and apparently a bit of hijacked and misused source material. I wouldn't know as I never played the game.

There are numerous padded out scenes spent with characters you don't care about, which flattens any emotional impact the film later goes for. The main problem are these hateable cardboard characters, the story and sets and monsters and kills are actually pretty cool. By the end it's just weird and boring and you end up waiting for it to finally end.
