A complete waste of both my time and money. Caixa Dois is one of the worst movies I've seen this year so far. Completely terrible screenplay, awful soundtrack, horrible acting, way too predictable script from beginning to end, jokes weren't funny at all (only people laughing were two 60 year old ladies with speech impediment). Most of the time it just reminded me of those ghastly Brazilian soap operas, with all the over-acting and badly shaped slapstick humor. And the music! Oh my God, the freaking music just wouldn't give up! It's almost like the editors realized the movie wasn't funny and tried to fix this minor issue by inserting hours of nice romantic-comedy-like songs on the back. The problem is it wasn't nice at all! It drove me crazy, actually. And please tell me, God, what is a great director such as Bruno Barreto doing with his life? First "O Casamento De Romeu e Julieta", and now THIS??? Geez, what's going on in this world??? What gets me real angry is knowing that these actors made a lot of money with this piece of cow dump. Overall, it just sucked.

Jesus Christ, was this one of the wort movies I've ever seen in my life! How can you people give this one a ten??? Sure, the special effects were great, so why don't you all just find a good, reliable website about special effects and you can give this movie a ten THERE. This is a website about movies, and movies are much more than special effects. Much more! It's about the script (this movie had none), good acting (this movie had none), well-written dialogues (this movie had none), etc (this movie had none)... So, sure, I admit it! For a movie like this to be made in 1968 with such astounding special effects must have been a real front page issue. But do you really like it as a movie??? It is all special effects, and I even though agree that at the time these effects were actually special, how is anyone astonished by it after almost two and a half hours of absolutely nothing else. If someone gives me a good reason why this movie isn't just about special effects, I'll delete this post and sincerely congratulate you. G'luck, though!

Like me, any Brazilian who watched the play "O Mistério de Irma Vap" must have thought this was gonna be a hell of a movie. Well... it's not. Any Brazilian with a TV set at home has at least once seen those awful comedy such as "Zorra Total" and "A Praça é Nossa". Sure, you may laugh a couple of times, but you can't really say it's quality TV. And that's exactly what this particular movie is all about: third rate slapstick humor. The kind that makes you wanna choke the director until something good comes out. And I must say, what Carla Camurati did must have been pretty hard. To turn two great actors into walking disasters, I don't know how she did that. I honestly don't! Fernando Meirelles managed to get people off slums and turn them into fantastic actors. Carla Camurati did the exact opposite. She got two of my favorite actors and sucked the talent straight out of them. Now, if you wanna watch this movie, be my guest. But don't expect me not to say "I told you so" afterwards. My tip is to save yourself some cash by staying at home and watching Brazilian TV shows that equally suck.
