Well, that was a deeply painful watch. Terrible writing and even worse acting all wrapped up in what looks like erotic fanfic of the early 00s wave of vampire shows. I wanted to like this, I love a bit of vampire fun like The Vampire Diaries or True Blood. However this had no right to try and take itself so seriously. The characters are so hilariously clichéd. When "Wrath" the vampire leader walked out into the Blade vampire club from Temu, I nearly wet myself laughing. So bad. This needed something. It needed just one person who could act and was a genuinely likable and charismatic screen presence. Everyone here is either a hilariously wooden caricature or bland and instantly forgettable. The best screen performance goes to the cat. 2 stars.
Here we see what leaning fully into the new A. I. horizon will produce. Behold, for it is not a pretty sight. There are many dystopian movies and TV shows out there but this one is the first to truly give us a glimpse of the horrific future ahead. I'm sure there are some individuals out there that may be able to enjoy this on some level. Just know that you're a part of the problem and we are all judging you. This is less a TV show and more a terrible crime committed in plain sight. I wish I could have given it zero stars, unfortunately 1 is the bare minimum, just like the thought and effort that went into this.
It's Monk. Tony Shalhoub, returning to (for me) his greatest role. One can only hope this restarts a new series because this was just as much heartfelt fun as the Monk of old. I'm so glad this just felt like a feature length episode because that was all it needed to be, to just let the characters shine. It was great to see the some of the best supporting characters return as well but most of all it is watching Tony Shalhoub do his thing as Monk that is the very comfort food of great television. I also really enjoyed the digs at Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. Sit back on a lazy Sunday afternoon and let this little gem wash away your woes.
