Classificação de Gaboaldana
I was anxious to see this movie since I watched the trailer. Today I went to the cinema and now I'm completely disappointed. The film begins well, lively, but then it becomes boring, slow and predictable. When you go to a movie with a cast like that (Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet ,Gwyneth Paltrow and others) you have high expectations, but if the plot is so poor and so little motivating like that, finally you are dissatisfied. I couldn't see any about "thriller" in that boring movie. It's a very strange story, with several character unnecesaries. Really I don't even know why I did't leave the theater. A pity. I don't recommend it.
The story may not be the original one has seen. In some ways it's the typical comedy of errors with many characters who are confused with each other. But on the other hand, it has something different, something special: the Latin touch that makes the humor really work. In the sweltering heat of one of the hottest days of summer in Madrid, it comes a comedy full of characters a little dark: a prostitute, a male prostitute, a girl in love with his brother in law, a mother who abandoned her son, casual sex seekers ... but all eventually filled with light from within. People living with a dark shell, but fragile and full of love inside. A movie to watch when looking for a little encouragement, to feel that when things go wrong, we are actually faced with a chance to be better.
A story well told, easy to follow and that gives a different perspective on controversial topics: immigrants, young offenders, terrorism, homosexuality, pedophilia, male prostitution, marginalization, police corruption etc. It addresses these issues with delicacy and intelligence. Perhaps most striking of these film is the way it is capable of leading the plot for controversial issues, walking in the slums of Madrid, with some sinister characters that are mixed with other more humanized, all a bit like life itself. The film, even when it is notorious its low budget, is very well done and manages to keep watch following it. It's almost perfect from A to Z, except for one last scene over at the end. Highly recommended.
