You know I kind of liked where this started in the first 10-15 minutes or so, but once you get beyond that, it becomes clear that this movie has nothing deeper to offer and it simply coasts for the rest of the runtime.
Clooney and Pitt are quite the headliners, sadly they are given absolutely nothing to work with here. If you want to watch Clooney and Pitt make dull witty remarks at one another in a story that spends almost two hours going absolutely nowhere, this is the movie for you.
There is zero tension whatsoever. Uninspired and boring. The humor will be hit and miss for people, I didn't think it worked at all.
It's been a rough go for Apple TV movies recently. They've had a reputation for putting out really solid TV shows, but the movies aren't hitting at all lately and this one will not help.

I completely disagree with many of the reviews that I've seen saying that this show "idolized Koresh". What were you guys watching? Koresh was painted in a very good light for the first couple of episodes but beyond that he was very very ugly in this series. They absolutely made a point of showing the pain he inflicted on his people and if you were rooting for him in the end.... I don't know what to tell you, that certainly isn't the vibe I got from the series.
Seems to me this story was well told from both sides. A solid solid 78/100 from an entertainment point of view. I recommend a watch here.

I was so excited to see this. It was a tradition for me and my buddy back in the day to go to the theater every Halloween for the new Saw sequel. We just had a good time.
I had pretty high expectations for Spiral, but even as I was lowering them throughout the film I kept being disappointed. The traps just weren't impressive at all. I've heard a lot of people say the first one was amazing, and while it was filmed quite well, I didn't think it was great either. So many traps that were simpler from the first 4-5 movies had so much more of an impact. I'll skip over discussing a lot of the details of the film and just get to the ending, which had major Saw IV vibes, and left me feeling pretty empty. I'm not one of these people that claims to have seen the twist coming...I didn't, but it didn't make my jaw drop or fascinate me at all. The ending felt rushed and I don't know exactly what impact they were trying to have.
I'm giving it a 5/10 simply for the effort of bringing the series back. Rock does a decent job really. I just wish the creativity was there.
