28 years later is brilliant. Real emotional roller coaster of a movie. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll jump, you'll go ewwww.

Rocco Hayes, the 12 year old lead is astounding. He is such a good actor, especially for a kid. Everyone else in the film is really good, but the film rests on his shoulders and he totally carries it. Great performance.

They film the whole thing on iphone, and it kind of shows, but gives it a very unique look.

Love the way they subvert some of the things you see in the trailer. If you've seen it you'll be, like, that's not what I expected that to be. Well played.

And the ending is bonkers. Guess it's setting things up for the sequel in a How's about that, then, way. No one outside the UK will get it.

Favourite little in joke was the happy eater featured in one scene. They went out of business in 1997. Which, I'm sure, not coincidentally, was 28 years ago.

Didn't think I'd see another film as good as sinners this year, but that's definitely in the same league.

Really beautiful British comedy that will have you laughing and crying in equal measure. Tim Key, who i really like anyway, gives a career best performance in this as a millionaire who hires his favourite folk singer to play just for him. And then surprises the singer with a blast from his own past.

Tim's backstory is gradually revealed during the movie and is truly heartbreaking, but just makes him more and more relatable. His burgeining relationship with the local shopkeeper is also played really well and is very believable.

Tom Basden as the folk singer is also very good. Starting as the slightly downtrodden, mildly grumpy character he exceos ar, but experiencing real growth throughout the movie.

Truly beautiful movie of the type you don't often see in the cinema nowadays. Loved it.

The Brutalist was good, but not the masterpiece of was made out to be. It starts off brilliantly, giving you a real feel of what it must have been like to bet one of the Jewish people dispersed accross the world after world war 2 with no idea whether your loved ones were still alive or where they might be. Adrian Brody is fantastic in this bit (he's really good so the way through, to be fair)

Then it's really just a person making their way story with added rascism and trauma, and that's all good. You get a real feel for the main character's obsession, and it make architecture not boring.

And there's an interval where you can go for a pee and grab a beer and that's awesome. More movies should do this. Especially as my bladder is not getting any younger.

It only really falls apart in they last half hour where there's a complete diablo ex machina subplot thrown in out of nowhere just to give the film an ending. It doesn't ruin the movie, but it does feel contrived and a bit pointless.

Still worth seeing if you have a spare 4 hours (including trailers) to sit in a cinema. And it does have one of the best scores I've heard in a long time.
