If you want to see a much better movie, watch Hair. If you want to see a ripoff with a much weaker script and soundtrack, watch this garbage. The last decent movie that used music by The Beatles was Yellow Submarine, but this even lost its shine after multiple screenings. Across the Universe was painful to sit through once and excruciating when having to endure when others wanted to watch this lousy movie. Those who like terrible movies would think this is a good movie.

An incredibly terrible movie, it amazes me that anyone would willingly watch this garbage. It was historically inaccurate, even though it was supposed to be based on a historic event (think Michael Bay's "Pearl Harbor" and you can see how far off this movie is). STARZ has this classified as a comedy, action, and historic. I know a lot of Swedes and they would have a hard time identifying this as a comedy. I endured 50% of this garbage and then was so desperate to escape it, I went to work even though I ended my work day a little bit before the Queen of watching terrible movies put it on. This movie would probably hold up as grounds for a divorce in most countries and states.

The original was much better, this one is long and drawn out with a storyline that really had a hard time following itself. The Emperor was the stereotypical oaf and made the Emperor in the original appear brilliant and mature. They should have stopped at the original, the follow up story was poorly written and the actors appeared to be phoning it in at times. I am glad I did not pay to see this sequel that should have never been. Luckily, it appears that there will not be a third Gladiator movie, but I have been wrong before, unfortunately. I guess they made their money back, good for them and bad for everyone else.
