Oof... So many technical faults and logical errors in You Only Live Twice. It came out on 1967, by which time there had been PLENTY of rocket launches by USA, and film footage of all the NASA launches were publicly available, so there was NO EXCUSE for using incorrect rockets, and for having absolutely horrible rocket exhaust. Oof! And there there were the scenes in which phantom cameras in space had to be 'inferred' by movie viewers, when the views should have been from the point of view of the craft making the approach. Oof!
There was also the 'slight' problem of Connery donning the uniforms of other men of much smaller stature, including a spacesuit, yet having a perfect fit every time. Oof!
The list could go on and on. Bottom line: Only 3 stars. You Only Live Twice should be Viewed Only Once, and only for the sake of completeness in your Bond movie viewing.

I was shocked and surprised in the best ways by Mr. Right, because it did not sound like 'my kind of movie'... I was so wrong! Very off-beat, insanely funny, dark comedy with a light heart. Amazingly, tops Blazing Saddles! Even has some philosophical parts woven in with a feather touch, not preachy in the slightest. A beautiful tapestry of plot, characters, music and action. One of only a handful of movies I would ever watch more than once, Mr. Right is an annual pleasure to revisit. Earns every one of 8 stars from me, a harsh critic! I describe Mr. Right to friends as "A nearly-perfect date movie, /with the right person/." (I never go above 9 stars, as nothing is ever /that/ perfect.)
Just A Kiss? It could have been called 'Surrealistic Fruitcake'.
Certainly a strange flick. Lots of big stars doing weird work in Manhattan, but certainly not up to normal standards. I can just see Woody Allen doing a face palm. Not a high point for director Fisher Stevens.
Not sure if it was about schizophrenia, or just a case of writers' discarded notes being made into a movie. Visually, a strange intermix of normal filming and painted-over frames, to look something like comic books.
Mildly entertaining, for all that.
Shows Tomei and Sedgwick in different kind of roles than their usuals.
Could have been a breakout role for Taye Diggs and sexy Marley Shelton, had the movie not totally bombed.
Worth a look if you like the offbeat.
