Didn't expect this movie had so much precious footage. I really don't like those so called documentaries with a lot of second hand interviews without real footage of the person involved in the actual event. But this movie provides viewers a feast of real footage. I don't understand why Roger Stone allow the film maker to record so many his shady deals. It really opened my eyes. The editing is not so good. I think the director should not include his own "episode" into the film. It breaks the flow of story telling. Instead, he should put more Roger Stone's footage in the film. Just can't get enough of this interesting character.
David Blaine outdone himself again. This documentary belongs to another world. My went through an emotional roller coaster while I watched the first three episodes. Surely, I didn't expect it could be so intense. Sometimes I have to covered my eyes with my hands like a little kid because the scenes are so scary. When I watched the king cobra moment, my heart was beating like I experience it myself. The shocking experience is beyond my expectation of watch a documentary. However, I fast forwards some acts of sharp subjects because I literally feel physical pain watching them. Besides the enjoyments of watching a good movie, I also got some inspirations from David's comments about those incredible "magicians". My daily "troubles" seems so small compare the challenges David willingly took upon himself.
I feel so angry after watching this movie. There are several huge villains here. First, it's the defendant' lawyer. He is a cold blood bastard and straight out lying all the time. Another surprising villain is the judge. She has no conscience and no brain. The last villain is Robert Wone's wife. If she is more cooperative with the police early on instead of helping the three suspects, the case might be solved. In the end, she settled down with the suspects because she "wanted peace". Then all the people helped her to solve the case have wasted their time and compassion. I gave the movie a thumb up. Not perfect but nicely done.
