I am truly surprised at the rating of this episode. I came to IMDb to see what the consensus was on this and the Abbott Elementary crossovers were, since as a long time fan of the show, I found them to be the two worst episodes so far. The AE crossover was poorly received (for a Sunny episode at least) but I was genuinely shocked to see this one was almost at a 9. I didn't laugh once, and I honestly couldn't really grasp the whole pepper/EMT thing, what was funny about it? What was even the angle on peppers being funny?

Idk I'm sure this will be downvoted but I disliked this so much, especially after the cake episode which had one of the funnier endings of a 20 min TV episode I can remember, I just couldn't help writing a review. Hopefully we get back to IASIP comedy instead of whatever that was. Felt like a poor copy that understood the format but not thr humor.

I have heard from critics on the places like The Ringer podcasts etc how Abbott Elementary is a modern version of The Office, yet out of the dozens of people Ive discussed TV shows with I have never met someone who actually likes this show. I count myself included, I was excited when I heard the Office comp and was about as disappointed as can be. It's like a sitcom for people who used to share Minions memes a decade ago. The Sunny crew brought out a few funny scenes but didn't laugh out loud once, it was just a total waste of an episode. I guess it's bc of the Philly location but there are many other shows I'd rather see a crossover between. The tone should at least be compatible.

As a defender of the more recent Family Guy seasons, this episode along with another earlier in the season was the last straw. No, this show is no longer declining but funny - it's moved into the hit or miss category at best, and more likely the skip it unless there's absolutely nothing to watch bucket. I mean the scene with Meg & Lois using all of the celebrity pun names, who on Earth thought that was funny?! The worst part was this could've been pretty funny it was a decent start to a premise early in the episode but the whole lesbian relationship angle is just not really funny at all, especially the woman being Bonnie who is one of the weaker characters. Jesus, this was just horrendous, sad to see how far this show has fallen. Still 2 stars for a couple of solid jokes like the Wendy's fish sandwich.
