This movie was just fun, fun, fun. Not a shred of seriousness, it's all a caper, and as such, of course it's silly and unrealistic, with just about zero "message", moral content or deep thoughts. But to be fair, looking at the poster, the trailer, the synopsis, I for one did not expect a deeply philosophical piece.

In essence, the movie delivers exactly what it promises, and it does it brilliantly. The main cast does a fantastic job, they are happy and completely comfortable in their roles, and bring out every bit of comedy that they possibly can. The viewer is rewarded with lots of easy laughs, and a very pleasant, relaxing and entertaining evening, where very minimal brain function is required.

At 44 I feel like I'm too old for contemporary movies. I did not grow up playing video games for hours and hours every day, so visuals that remind me of video games annoy and distract me. While I can see how far CGI came over the years, it is still VERY visible, unnatural, and thus, off putting.

Well, this movie was chock full of CGI, and it did not help it. I long for movies like Alien, using physical tricks to achieve its visual effects, and still, after almost 50 years, it looks very real and scary. The effects smoothly blend in, they don't scream "I'm an effect!!!".

That said, the movie is still okay, it is mostly pleasant, and delivers much of what you came to expect from this series. As usual, too much gore for my taste, and at the same time, the deaths are often presented in a cartoonish way that renders them more funny than impactful.

The story was as okay as the previous instalments', and the pace was good, no boring moments.

It's light, fun, if far from perfect.

A pleasant surprise. I thought it's going to be bad, but it was actually a good movie. Nothing major, I won't watch it 72 times in a row, won't think about it 10 years from now, won't keep recommending it to friends. But it did make for an evening well spent.

The story is not very complex, but it was interesting, and was fairly original. Most importantly the two leads did a great job. Their act felt very natural and authentic, their characters were likeable. I wasn't bored while watching, I rooted for them to succeed with their mission, and hoped for the one they were looking for to be found, and was surprised a few times, which is always a plus.

In general, I liked it, enjoyed it. It was not the movie of the century, but it was the right movie for last night.
