This movie is low budget, low experience, low cinematography. If we put the very unrelated crypto gamer backstory that never really makes any sense, this is a girl in the forest in a cabin movie. Instead of monsters in the woods, we have random government guys trying to.. what are they trying to do actually. It is hard to decipher. Do they want her, do they want her code.. It is not made clear and there are so many bad scenes with incoherent and illogical writing you just give up trying to understand much. Just be aware she has plot armor and that's about it.

Speaking of her, Iverson does a decent enough job being the only cast in this. Everybody else is a horrible background voice on the phone or off screen. She gets all the screen time and does alright with it, considering what was there to work with. The only thing that saves this movie from utter pitfall. Congratulations i suppose, rare to not have F acting with F script and writing. She puts a C- which is way higher than everything else in there.

The ending will have you wondering what happened, but do not worry. There is no answer and it has no need to make sense. This movie never tried to make sense or have a story so it is not like you should expect it to end on something tangible.

3\10 the budget was less than a single memecoin.

When i heard liam neeson was cast here i expected a horrible outcome. Well, it was better than expected. The movie still suffers from taking itself too seriously, being too dark. Cliched villains without their own flair was unfortunate but it drew away from liam trying to be funny; he is not, never was and never will be. He just was not as liam as he usually is.

I have no idea what the whole snowman scene was about or why it was there. This movie has a lot of random junk, most of it being dialogue that is forced on because they are trying to recreate the feel of the originals. It is too random too out of place and too forced way too many times - gets old fast. Getting Pamela Lee was probably one of the saving graces but they also kick her in and out of scenes way too abruptly. Drebins women were usually lost girl type; in this remake pamela is a cougar. Does not work because drebin was always a womanizer, like bond, if we remember our original movies. His son is basically a virgin scared of a hot woman. Sigh. Too much dei and metoo in this one.

This movie is disorganized and has too much liam neeson in it. We cannot avoid that, and it has to be said. Iconic characters from the original movies - mayor, police commissioners, dignitaries etc are either absent here, terribly written and cast or simply unlikable and irrelevant. This severely cuts the awkward drebin scenes we all loved; here everything is shallow and they keep pushing some irrelevants constantly - why did we even need scenes with the fight casters. Why.. Pointless. For some more forced word puns we heard 500 times already... who think this is still funny; not me.

6\10 Could have been worse, could have been way better. Lets just get back to taken now.

This was not bad at all. The acting was very suitable from everybody cast; this being unusual these days. The movie maintains the big mystery of the alien angle till the very end and takes it into the credits, which i have to scold it for. The ending felt more like what the opener should have been because it was so rushed with so much vague information thrown in it left the viewer with too many questions and a big "now what". Very superman like story. The whole "brother" concept throughout the movie is also exploited in a bad way, from start to finish. Not his brother but also his brother but maybe his actual brother or maybe just brother brother... Yep. The entire brother calling can go either way and when you get to the credits, you have nothing. And I am not talking about the brother we meet early on. Just keep in mind the movie is called "KIN" which i felt they tried to spin off into this cute expositional right at the very end but it fell so absolutely flat I am not sure if it was brother, or brother brother, brother. Confused? Good. The movie will not clear it up!

Regardless, overall pretty enjoyable. This one might actually have warranted a sequel but alas they never followed up.
