Listen. I get it. This isn't for everyone. Because if you don't know enough about greek mythology you are going to miss a lot of things. I am Greek and I always had a passion about mythology. The show is filled with Easter eggs about Greek mythology and if you know the original characters and their myths it just clicks, it gets so much more nuanced and it's hilarious. I can't tell you if you'll enjoy it the same without knowing Greek mythology in depth. At least read about Orpheus and Eurydice and the underworld to have a better understanding and you'll enjoy it( and maybe the myth of Prometheus ). Jeff Goldblum as a God is always a good idea never the less.
Wow, that was a very good film. Although the title was strange and not really engaging I thought I'd give it a try. And I am glad I did. Benicio Del Toro is stellar as always and Alicia Silverstone as his wife was excellent too. Their relationship was real and grounding. The film starts as any murder crime film, but then things get really messed up and tense. I actually yelled what the f is going on here as the movie started unraveling the mystery. Cinematography was great and with a great score. You could feel the tension building as the movie progresses from murder crime to thriller with some plot twists you never show coming.
So this is not the classic tale of king Arthur. If you are expecting it to be you will be disappointed. This is a Ritchie film with his usual style and cinematography telling an old tale with modern battle choreography and cool visuals. If you're are a fan of Ritchie you will like it. If you don't get or like his style then you won't get or like this film too, and that's why there are some really bad reviews out there, from people who were expecting something else.
