I thought it was an awesome movie. But if you aren't a teenager, I can assure you that you won't feel the same way, so don't waste your time!!!
If you are a teen, you'll love it. It is hilarious. If you're a girl, you'll think Justin (Robert Hoffman) and Duke (Channing Tatum) and super hot. And if you're a boy, you'll be crushing on Viola (Amanda Bynes) and Olivia (Laura Ramsey), and probably Monique (Alex Breckinridge).
The movie is slightly based on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, but then again... all the best teen movies are based on Shakespeare -- "10 Things I Hate About You" was. Basically, when Viola's school's girls' soccer team gets cut, she dresses as her brother and goes to the rival school. From there, the tagline for the movie will get you up to speed. Although, nothing will make sense till you actually see the movie. You won't regret it!

And it was not a disappointment at all! I've read most of Pride and Prejudice and I loved the comparison that they did. The acting was good, although Aishwarya Rai's voice was totally dubbed during some sining parts, you could totally tell because she was a Hindi(a.k.a. "Fob") accent which wasn't in some of the songs that she sang. I thought that having Ashanti was kind of odd, but kind of cute, because it could happen in India. I loved how they used Alexis Bledel! But I'm just a huge Gilmore Girls fan, lol. It was probably one of my favorite movies, the director is amazing!!! It's the same woman that did Bend it Like Beckham, and I must admit that for a second time, she surprised me with how good her work is. There are probably some Indian people that had problems with it, but as a Sri Lankan girl(Sri Lanka in quite similar is certain aspects, thought not exactly the same) I thought it was great. There were no complaints on my part.
A word of advice for anyone who is going to see this, READ THE BOOK FIRST. Even if you don't, its good, but it's better to read the book first in this case, even thought the book is different in quite a few ways. If you plan on watching this movie, just be prepared to cry your eyes out for probably about the last half hour of it, or so. It's horribly sad and happy, all at once, but it might just end up being the best movie you've ever seen, and even if it isn't, anybody who has seen the movie will tell you it's definitely worth it. So, if you haven't seen this, you really are missing out, but just to let you know, the amount of heart-breaking, heart-warming, and teary-eyed moments in this movie is almost too much to handle - the movie was just sooooooo good.
