It's everything you could possibly want in a comedic sequel 30 years in the making. It brought back every single person from the original they could. For those who are dead and gone, they brought in people to continue their legacy, beautifully, and humorously. There are a ton of cameos and its fun to try and name them all. There are Easter Eggs galore and you could play a game of identifying them all. It was enormously nostalgic and paid homage to the original. It is also stand-alone funny.! I'm guessing 20 million people will watch it this "opening weekend"..! Likely to be the biggest Netflix movie of all time if I had to guess. Go watch it!
The movie starts out very well, albeit a bit cliche. Some fun chemistry between main characters, mystery and a pretty good reveal. There is some heart to it and both main characters are likable and relatable in their development. The midway point starts to get a bit lackluster and the storyline doesn't do much for suspense or twist or anything like that. Action sequences are not bad though as with many modern action movies with skinny chicks, some of Ana's character's scenes are as believable as Black Widow from Marvel. Both characters remain likable throughout, but the 3rd act feels rushed and a bit disappointing. The ending does provide some saving grace to make it just likable enough. Worth the watch.!
The shows premise is a direct rip off of Schwarzenegger's 1987 film, "The Running Man" except it doesn't have the amazing Arnold Schwarzenegger. Many characters are direct derivatives from that show, and they are poorly portrayed by unknown "actors" and "actresses". Ultimately the storyline is mundane and incredibly predictable. Acting by any of the main characters is poor at best, and Michael Madsen needed more sarcastic screen time, which he doesn't get. The set must have cost less than the arena for American Gladiators, and the action sequences were choreographed by a 12 year old boy. Skip it.
