An hour long show that rarely gives its contestants the big prize, which compared to other Australian game shows is not that much anyway. Contestants are more often than not tempted with forfeiting the few thousand dollars they've managed to get out of the machine in the hope of a few extra shots! Rarely does it convert into the big win. The fact that the show replaced Eddie's Hot Seat that gave away a lot of money, Channel 9 must have put this on as a cheaper option. I've not watched the British version of the show, so cannot compare, but Woodbridge's version is such a slow moving, low energy show - perhaps far more suited to the ABC. Leave it to Deal or No Deal, a 30 minute fast paced show that regularly gives away big amounts for feel good game show entertainment.
Being an outdoor enthusiast and having watched and loved every season of Alone, I was so excited about the prospect of an Aussie version. My excitement was short lived however, as other than the graphics and editing format being the same as the US show that's where the similarities stop.
If only the producers hadn't focused on ticking all their diversity boxes and followed the successful format of having experienced survivalists this series could have been watchable. Instead, it's a tedious and downright embarrassing offering of self indulgent, agenda pushing, foul mouthed and ill-prepared people hoping for their 15 minutes of fame.

Some of the best animal filming I've ever seen, but really hard work to watch when you have to listen to the commentary and backing music - toggling between the ultra dramatic and ridiculously cliche and corny.
Such a shame, could have been an outstanding series, but really can't be taken seriously with this narrator.
