Firstly, this film is set in Portland Oregon but entirely shot in Bristol. It seems like all the actors are British and have to adopt American or Eastern European accents, which is clearly too challenging for them as everyone sounds ridiculous. Just make the film British and the dialogue won't sound so forced and awkward. Secondly it's a pretty poor execution of a tired idea. Full of silly montages of people "working" and no character development so you don't really care what happens to any of them. Sometimes films get made and you wonder how. Like, who said yes to this?
Give it a miss I think..

This show was weird, confusing, and a little bit of a challenge because of all of the different languages being spoken. If you weren't paying attention, a whole load of valuable info slipped by you. (The dubbing is always horrible)
It was also beautiful, moody, smart, shocking and very inventive.
My main source of contention is that although the soundtrack is full of brilliant songs, it doesn't really feel right whenever they are used. The original score is excellent but it slips into well known songs in a way that feels a little forced.
Is it comparable to Dark? Maybe for it's weirdness..
Definitely worth a watch but make sure you're paying attention.

Yes. There's an filter over the live action. Does it make it worse or ruin it? No. It's bizarre to me that people can't see through the effect and it bothers them that much. There are some really basic people on this that will have you believe this isn't a great mini series. If you like this style of effect check out "a scanner darkly"
