I've seen very bad "comedies" with higher ratings than this one. The plot is simple, but at least in my opinión, about 80% of the jokes work, I even replayed the "baseball bat therapy session" scene like 3 times and I was laughing soo hard each time. Also, these days comedy is more worried about not being offensive than being actually funny. This movie doesn't give a damn about it, and that's a merit on its own. I normally would give this a 7, sure is not a comedy classic, but to me it was hillarious and since a 5.4 in my books means a boring, innecesary movie, I give this a solid 8, because I think more people should watch it and enjoy it.

Since I watched the trailer I wanted to see this movie. It made me feel it could be something really special. Then I saw the rating and I was a little disappointed because I thought it was going to be packed with stupid jokes just to make kids laugh, but I'm so glad I was wrong. For an amusement park lover as myself it was an amazing ride, it is an ode to imagination and the ability we all have to create, (it all starts with a thought) , and you have to be willing to listen to the voice in order to create, wether its an inner voice, or a family member. Also animal characters are lovable and not annoying like in other animated movies. Overall a very fun and touching experience, widely recommended for everyone, but even more for parents who want to help their children to get the best out of their imagination.

Every time that a movie based on a book comes out, people start to compare both as if they were supposed to be the same. Thats pretty much impossible cause the film is actually the director s vision of the book and obviously not everyone feels the same things reading a book or watching a movie. Now I have to admit that every bestseller turned to movie is suspicious to me ( we have things like Eragon ( uninteresting) The Golden Compass ( it ends when its starting to get interesting) or Twilight ( unbearable unless you are a hardcore fan) so I was expecting a so so movie with The hunger games. Thats why I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. It has an amazing performance from Jennifer Lawrence to start with, the custom design is awesome, the score is excellent and there are some lines in the movie that really caught me. If this was an R rated movie probably it could have been a little better but the final result is an entertaining and well worth movie
