I enjoyed this movie immensely! But do know that I am not a man of faith. I am not a christian but I do know that like any superstition, it obviously has its part to play in professional sports. Now know this... I love baseball! I love stories where the underdog or the less fortunate player finds the strength to overcome! Remember Jim Abbott? What a pitcher and what a story! Hill only played 4 season's in the minors, but he not only proved to himself and others that he and that bat were one, but he inspired so many that they should follow their dreams. Maybe this movie will inspire? I sure hope so.
We were a rodeo family, team roping was everything. Both Junior rodeo and professional. We even roped with some celebrity real cowboys like James Caan, Bob Eubanks, and Johnny Crawford. And my dad would team up with Montie Montana at LA County Sheriffs ropings.
We loved all the great westerns like Bonanza, Rawhide, and Wagon Train. But Gunsmoke was definitely our favorite! Matt was a Marshal with integrity and morals. Always avoiding killing when possible.
Something we loved to do every week when the show aired was to count and bet on how many times Doc Adams would wipe his face with his hand. As everyone has noticed, he does it very often. There's the mouth wipe and the nose wipe. Each one counts as a wipe. Don't get me wrong, he was an amazing actor! Everyone loved Doc! My favorite on the show besides Matt was Festus! Ken Curtis was an amazing character actor!! Yes, great show and it ran my entire childhood!
