I guess by today's standards it's not to good a movie but Randolph Scott has always been a reliable western actor . Tall , Stubborn and expressionless he just always fits the part. The movie itself is mostly about the towns people and how they lost self respect. The silly thing is that Randolph Scott (Allison)and John Carroll (Tate) were nearly 60 yet karen Steele (Lucy)was about 26. Old men fighting over a girl young enough to be there daughter. You can't knock Scott though , he made over 100 million dollars in his career so that says something . The movie had a quick ending which was anti climatic but still these type of films were always on a time budget . Most films in this era only went for an hour and a half.
Abusive , rude , poor acting and the list goes on . Definitely not a PG Rating . Swear words throughout and Sandler is awful . It's just not funny unless your an obnoxious American but even then it has no wit at all . Sandler just yells like a fool and you just feel like punching his lights out. The child in this film doesn't say or do much and trying to be cute just doesn't cut it. It's just bad manners all the time from Sandler who spoils this movie. Needs a better actor and a better child actor . How Sandler is popular is beyond me as his acting is all on one level . Pass on this and don't let kids watch it otherwise they will have nightmares .
Unfortunately there is hardly any truth in this film . While the film depicts unfriendliness between the two it's a complete opposite in real life . The two drivers became friends while competing in Formula Three and even lived together. They remained close friends until Hunts death .Lauda was supportive of Hunt and gave him advice. Hunt: Lauda acknowledged Hunt's skill and competitiveness on the track. Lauda, who was fluent in English, often visited the McLaren pit to talk with Hunt. The film portrayed their rivalry as more intense than their actual friendship. Hunt's son, Freddie Hunt, said that the rivalry was overplayed and that the two drivers were "far closer" than the movie portrayed. Some of the driving scenes were a bit fake except the real life actual race scenes. So not the best film . Hemsworth quite poor as an actor or portrayal of Hunt .Daniel Brühl though is spot on as Lauda . Hair styles were obviously wigs and looked as much .
