I knew nothing about this film when I noticed it in my Amazon Prime recommendations, so I chose it with low expectations.
I was delighted to find two main characters that seemed real and attractive, each with their own relatable fears and problems. Their parts were well played with credible dialogue and a convincing work/friendship relationship. The witch antagonist was well integrated into the story and scary in a subtle but horrific way.
I thought the two main location settings were well chosen, well lit and well shot. The pace of the film was steady but the tension mounted nicely to a satisfyingly horrific climax.
This was well crafted by Joshua Sowden. I look forward to seeing more of his work.

I've tried very hard with this series. But now I realise that this definitely isn't for me. I have been a huge fan of William Gibson since I found 'Burning Chrome' in my local library many years ago. 'The Peripheral' is my favourite of his books, although I have revisited earlier trilogies on a regular basis. This isn't anything like the novel, which is complex and probably difficult to translate into a purely visual medium. If I hadn't read the prose I would probably have been completely happy with this series as a stand-alone sci-fi series which was radically different. I'm baling out at this point. I really hope all you fans continue to enjoy it. Read Gibson and see how his fiction is cutting-edge and how it develops with changing technology and science.
I thought this was just another doomsday scenario but found this to be so enjoyable - but - given recent events, it also scared me more than The Exorcist! I liked it.
