There is a war going on between the Chinese mafia and an African-American gang. One day, the youngest son of the head of the Chinese mafia is killed. His older brother Han decides to find the killer, but on his way he meets the charming Trish O'Day. Despite the fact that their families are waging a brutal war for the redevelopment of plots in Oakland, the dangers unite the lovers.
Film is based on the French play "The Parrot and the Chicken" by Robert Thom, which, in turn, is an adaptation of the play by the British playwright Jack Poplewell "Mrs. Piper leads the investigation". The picture has all the features of a detective (no wonder the subtitle says: "The story of a murder"), but there is also a lot of comedy in it. Funny features are exaggerated in the characters ' characters, and the director's intonation shows irony in relation to the cliches of the detective genre.
