When humans grow up in a performancebased, selfsufficient and greedy culture, they mostly become social/emotional unintelligent individuals, with huge scores of bad decisions. They tend not to have genuine dialogue with their surroundings, they seem to act emotionally and let personal fear/lust/greed etc. Drive their deeds. In short, they become victims and hipocritic actors, unable to reflect on their behaviour until it's too late and all the sufferings has killed their ability to stand - and then they fall.

The two families in this tv-show are not used to be truthful, they haven't experienced that the truth is the only way to a balanced life - and they represent to a large scale the capitalistic culture and its destructive powers. A culture, where reflections, deep thinking and empathy are orphans - and humans grow devastatingly stupid.

Hardy at his finest and Brosnan + Mirren lift this show to extraordinary heights; their characters are original and loaded with madness. The silent madness, the unpredictable madness and the menacing madness - and the storyline just rolls over again and again, while keeping the pace. And in between, we have several touchdowns on the existential crisis and sorrow, that follows everyone involved.

Guy Ritchie has directed the first two episodes with a master's touch, but the co-directors holds the line right up to the bloody season-final. I really look forward to watch this again, when season two arrives.

Rudolf Hensel, the nazi minister. We're in episode five and the plot is thickening; a haunted male cop, lots of decisive women, the bad boys, the russians, the mob, the stolen brexit, the AFD, the (neo)liberal world order at threat.

The good. The bad. All though we are shown that the good ones are doing bad things, we learn that the bad ones are much worse. So which side to choose?

The world is a Risk board, we're told. Politics are power, and we have to act swiftly.

What does stories like that do to our minds? They flatten them, submit us to be loyal to the appearantly lesser evil, and lose our sound judgment, the acknowledgement that both sides are untrustworthy and cynical power brokers.

Politics are not a game, it's about how we deal with the world, the nature, life and ressources. How we organize, how we distribute economy, how we interact and how we make common decisions.

Give the power to the ones, who don't want it; they will share it with you.
