Wow, what a stellar job the team at Madhouse has done with this show thus far! After an interesting set-up episode in the premiere, episode 2 packs an emotional gut punch that some may not have seen coming. However, in setting up for future arcs, this episode lays the groundwork for Orb's story to truly begin.
Again, beautifully animated and the OST is befitting of the luminous night skies. Our journey with Rafal is just beginning, but it is amazing how quickly we feel invested in the difficult choices he is forced to make. Geocentrism vs. Heliocentrism truly was a battleground of academia in 14th century Poland, and that this is so riveting to the viewer is a testament to the manga's author. What an episode!

Ever since I saw the first PV for Orb: On the Movements of the Earth, I've been cautiously optimistic that this could be a sleeper hit of the Fall season. Animated by Madhouse (HunterxHunter, Frieren), Orb is dazzling to behold. The night skies and warm colors are captivating, and the characters' motivations and actions are clear, convincing, and wonderfully fleshed out. The music by Kensuke Ushio adds a layer to the show that helps the emotions hit harder and the scenery pop!
As a 25 episode anime, I'm hopeful we will get a full adaptation of this award winning manga! If you are interested in character-driven, emotionally hard-hitting anime like Vinland Saga or Frieren, give Orb a try and enjoy the ride!

This is a stunning, heart-wrenching, thought-provoking start to season 2 of Vinland Saga. Meeting a new character and spending 24/25 minutes with him was certainly a risk, but it paid off in spades. We learn so much about Einar in just over 20 minutes and become fully absorbed in his struggle to survive and will to live. From a harrowing experience with his family and village, to being sold off as a slave, we are left to wonder where his journey may lead. All signs point to Thorfinn by episodes end. This was the best possible start to this arc that I could have imagined! Strap in, it's going to be top tier!
