It starts slow to set you up for excitement. Nothing will ever be the original but honestly i only ever like the original. No matter what iteration after seemed like some kind of disappointment. They just couldn't capture the magic the same. After being bogged down by all the remakes i didn't like i saw this was directed by the director of the Creator and one of the best star wars movies and i got excited. Plus the cast and really this is a great throwback movie. It goes back to the original and captures it's essence while still being it's own thing. It's worth seeing in the theater for it's execution. I'm glad dinosaur movies are good again.

This is throw back creative endeavor. Are there small issues here and there? Sure. But in a genre soaked with useless unnecessary things. This is a breathe of fresh air. Go in with an open mind and enjoy the creativity. It's worth your time especially for a horror movie. Bummed it's not on 4k but glad it got a blu ray at least. They make you make the reviews a certain length now but really this is all i have to say. I'm glad i watched it and i hope you enjoy it also. Words and words later for no reason i don't know why this needs to be so long. I used to like when the reviews could be shorter.

But i didn't need to be. If it wasn't for everybody aging you would've thought this was made right after the other one. The old school effects and costumes keep it literally in the same universe with the added benefit of time and practice. This is the best thing Tim burton has done in years. I could watch Keaton be beetlejuice for a three hour movie and be happy. But everyone does a great job at their roles. The effects are perfect for maintaining the feel of the original and everything just flows so well. I think bringing in so many of the original people including the script writer made sure that this would satisfy not only our nostalgia but not disappoint all the loyal fans.
