First off, this is not a great film technically speaking, but goddamn this movie is fun. Art the clown is seriously the coolest slasher villain we have had recently. He feels like a cool new through back to the 80s horror icons we love. This movie knows what it is and doesnt take its self to seriously, which is why it works. I think if the would have actually had good actors I wouldn't have anything to complain about. Well, I take that back the characters outside of Art could use some depth. But other than that, I really do love this movie
This is by far my least favorite Jarmusch flick. And it really feels like a waste of this cast. While the movie is not horrible and has a couple laughs. (Iggy pop has a coffee craving zombie gave me life) a majority of this film left me very bored and unimpressed. I would even go so far as to say even the cast seemed bored.
As a child that litterally burned out 2 VHS of the film I am so impressed. This gave me everything I wanted. More background into this fascinating world while honoring and respecting the source material. I was a little sceptical of this because Jim Henson is dead and this was his brain child, and I was also concerned about the voicing of the returning characters. But when I tell you I thought it was the Simon pegg voicing chamberlin, I was shook.
