If I could sum up my feelings about F4 First Steps in just 3 words it would be this: Justice for Galactus.
It might've taken them the better part of two decades , 20 years, but they finally did the devourer of worlds justice on the silver screen by not only his look, but his feel , presence, and even the actor who did the Voice was sincere and menacing. For that alone I applaud them. I also applaud them for making a great superhero family movie that had a fantastic no pun intended, cast that all meshed well together. All four of the main actors bounced off each other quite nicely and really made me genuinely feel like they were the physical embodiment of what the fantastic for would resemble.
Now in regards to the plot, they lead in heavily onto the child of Reed, Richards and Sue Storm that intertwined with the Galactus main story arc and I think it just all was written in such a decent way that it all made sense in the end. Even how they were able to defeat the cosmic Titan also made sense in the best way possible as they had to do so by using the best of their limited abilities. I also didn't even mind that they gender swapped silver surfer because she came off as kind of a tortured soul, slave to a master that she never wanted and only doing as she's told for fear of the cosmic consequences of the mighty Galactus.
Overall, I really think this is the definitive F4 experience through and through. While some of the special effects were solid, my only real grips were with too much use of AI technology, which I am definitely not a fan of. But other than that, it's a fun 1 hour and 50 min ride and I can't wait to see where Marvel's first superhero family goes next.

In case anyone is in the market for a really good mystery thriller starring someone who isn't really known for doing thrillers, Jim Carrey, then you will be pleasantly surprised to know that this movie with this well known comedy actor actually meshes well together.
I first watched this movie in 2008 and I thought it was time for a rewatch with the lady and it still holds up relatively well. Sure the big reveal in the end may have been something done in the past and not that original, but the build up until the big twist was pretty intense to say the least. The acting was great, the plot was simple enough and the intrigue behind the mystique of the number 23 was mildly captivating.
What I also liked about the movie was the runtime which respects your time in clocking in just over 90 minutes. One of my minor grips with the films writing, though is that they expect us to believe that a thin Little book that doesn't look anything over 90 pages has 23 chapters in it. But that that's a minor inconvenience if anything.
Overall, it has the look feel of a film noir detective mystery with the sprinkling of a classic thriller with twist and turns until the final act that once again isn't the most original but entertaining and immersive, nevertheless.

Watching the second and third Naked Gun movies which are the two I haven't seen the most in years and they still hold up stupidly well as they did over 30 years ago.
The second one isn't as memorable as the first and third installments, but it still has its moments here and there. The wacky dead pan humor is still some of the corniest yet entertaining to date and it's a shame we don't get many movies with this style of humor anymore.
Leslie Nielsen and pals were once again delivering the goods and doing silly comedy the best they could and while the second film doesn't have the amount of quotes as the first film nor memorable setting as the third film, it still is a solid installment in the Naked Gun series and worth a watch or even rewatch.
