I could review ANY movie by Stephen King and use the same title. The movie is not as good as the book. True. But so what? Stephen King is the King of WRITERS, in my opinion of course, PERIOD. Movies are much tougher than to do well than books are. But this IS a very good movie, more of a comedy than a horror movie, but still very good. The kids were EXCELLENT, all of them, and of course Pennywise, the star of the show, was excellent and the actor was an excellent choice. I'm what Mr. King calls his constant readers, and he's correct, that's exactly what I am. So if you're not a reader, you'll love the movie. If you're a constant reader like me, watch the movie - you might get a pleasant surprise.

If you watch this movie expecting a typical werewolf horror movie you will be very disappointed. This movie is more of a black comedy who done it movie with a little gore and an unmistakably weird Fargo vibe. The only disappointing part was the actual werewolf which looked like something out of a 1950's werewolf movie, but that's okay as the movie isn't really about the werewolf and since it was obviously a low budget movie this is totally acceptable. Milana Vaytrub steals the show as Cecily and Sam Richardson as Finn was equally excellent. Actually everyone did a good job. So if you go in with the right frame of mind, you will have a wonderful time!

This is not a terrible movie, but could have been better. The biggest problem is that the actor playing Doc is not playing Doc, he's playing Val Kilmer playing Doc. Not sure if this was the actors decision or the directors, but it was the wrong decision. The story is ok, a little slow at times but all in all not bad, the score is pretty cool and the drab scenery fits in well with the story line. It's important to remember that this is not a remake of tombstone, but a prequel and the way it ends, leading right up to the start of Tombstone is also pretty cool. Again, not terrible but not great either. 5/10.
