The only short worth mentioning in this less than average collection of short films is "Bloodline". I definitely see a full length feature potential for that one but even still, the quality of this and all the shorts is poor. I understand the concept of indie films and low budgets, but this has more of a home movie style to it than an actual film for the masses. Honestly, it was boring and at times very poorly acted. And I am a very open minded critic when it comes to gay indie features. Too bad this one does not strike the mark.

The acting was sub par. The cinematography was non existent. None of the shorts was particularly interesting or compelling. The film quality was grainy at times. "Bloodline" was only mildly entertaining, due mostly to the

cute Asian lead. Try the "Boys Life" series instead if you're looking for

a better short film anthology.

OK so the movie does not have a high budget. The acting from the two younger leads is mediocre at best. But the psycho killer character and the unusual production style are what keep the momentum and interest in this movie going. I found elements of "The Cell", "Silence of the Lambs", and "Saw" all wrapped in one. The quirky style of many scenes in the movie has elements of Tim Burton and "Puppet Master". The creepy and astounding score also lend major points to an otherwise average horror thriller story. The movie was genuinely creepy and somewhat scary at several moments, but scary in a suspenseful way and not so much a frightening way. With the slew of horrible horror movies, high budgets and low, this one definitely stands out as above average and unique in it's own way. If you can get past the amateurish acting of the two young leads and the low budget aspects of the film that are apparent here and there, you will find a fantastic and gripping horror movie.

This is one of the most suspenseful and surprising thrillers in a long time. It really is an edge of your seat thriller, with some gore. The freakiest thing is the character of the "collector" with the bizarre music and hissing sounds that accompany him on screen. The movie is original, fast paced, and inventive in terms of plot. My ONLY two complaints: there was virtually no exposition about the "collector" AND it wasn't long enough. It ended too abruptly and it should have come to a more resolute conclusion, although I guess that is why many horror films have open endings, to lay out the groundwork for a sequel or two or three. I hope to see the sequel in production soon!! Phenomenal !
