Rating 6.6 🍿
It Comes at Night is a slow-burn psychological horror film that focuses more on paranoia and human nature than on delivering traditional scares and I give it 6.6 🍿. The movie builds an eerie, suffocating atmosphere as it follows two families trying to survive an unspecified plague in an isolated house deep in the woods. Joel Edgerton delivers a solid performance, and the film's minimalistic approach, dim lighting, and haunting score create a constant feeling of dread. However, the film leaves many questions unanswered, and for some viewers, the lack of a concrete threat or resolution may feel frustrating. While it succeeds in creating tension and exploring themes of trust and fear, it ultimately falls short for those expecting a more straightforward horror experience.

Rating 4.2 🍿
Lowlifes, a Tubi Original is decent for that but still only give it 4.2 🍿. This survival horror flick has a decent plot but the acting was sub par and just the overall feel of the movie just felt cheesy to me. Nothing about this movie was remotely scary and the only thing that even remotely saved it was the twist at the end. Some people loved this movie and maybe I am being to harsh but it's just my opinion and I wasn't impressed at all!

Rating 5.8 🍿
Bone Tomahawk felt like two separate movies blended into one and give it an average 5.8 🍿. The first half plays out as a slow-burn western, complete with classic frontier characters, dry humor, and a patient pace that builds tension through its dialogue and atmosphere. It feels grounded and true to the genre, focusing on a rescue mission and the rugged camaraderie of its characters. But as the film progresses, it shifts into something far more brutal and unsettling, introducing a violent, native cannibalistic tribe that turns the story into a savage horror survival tale. While the transition is jarring, it's also what makes the movie stand out-though for some viewers, the sharp tonal shift might feel disjointed. Overall, it's a bold and unique mix of genres, but the contrast between the western drama and the grisly horror might leave some feeling like they watched two very different films stitched together.
