This is everything you expect in a Christmas movie. All the feels! A family with deep issues comes together over a holiday crises, and discovers that love is the most important thing.
The twist is that it deals with a very real issue, dementia, and the happily ever after ending doesn't include a magical cure. AMAZING performance by Kay Megan Washington as the mother who is (mostly) aware that everything is slipping away.

I watched this movie with my daughter, who is a Sophomore at OU, and frequently tells me that it's the most haunted campus in the United States. She was delighted to see this film, and recognized many of the locations.
Having said that, the film is very slow, the plot minimal and the characters are completely generic. The special effects are very odd, as far as we can tell were done on Final Cut 7, attempting to mimic film...? One or two of them were effective, most were just awkward and distracting.
The best thing that's I can say about the film is that it was clearly made by people who love the genre. There are many worse movies out there.

I watched this film to see what Karen Gillan got up to after Doctor Who, and I have to admit I was very impressed by her performance. By all of the performances, actually, though there is a very small cast.
As others have said, this movie was not too graphic, but there were some situations so cringe worthy I couldn't watch them anyway. One scene in particular which involved an apple, I just had to turn away from.
As far as formula, my daughter and I took bets on the ending about a third of the way through. I pretty much called it, but wasn't completely sure until the last five minutes. Not too formulaic, not too out of left field, no clear explanation given but a lot implied. I enjoyed this one a lot, but hope that there isn't a sequel, it's very good where it ended.
