The story revolves around a group of friends connected by shady dealings. The main character, a narcotics officer, is kidnapped and made addicted to drugs - a fact he keeps secret in order to investigate the supposed suicide of a friend.
The plot and dialogues are cleverly crafted, the acting is excellent, and the drama unfolds without any romantic distractions.
Nevertheless, there are some disruptive elements, such as prominent product placement or implausible handling of evidence within the department. Also, the way withdrawal symptoms are depicted is illogical. Probably they were crafted this way for dramaturgical effect or to depict the immense willpower of the affected person. However, it rubbed me the wrong way.
If you can look past these shortcomings (among others), you'll be rewarded by a captivating, gripping and entertaining show that never gets boring.

I started Gyeongseong Creature intrigued by the glowing reviews, but the series ultimately left me disappointed. After a promising start, I found myself fast-forwarding through the final two episodes - a sign that it failed to hold my attention.
While the cinematography is beautiful, with a well-crafted 1945 setting and solid CGI, the storytelling lacks consistency and direction. It's unclear whether the show wants to confront historical atrocities using a monster as a metaphor, or focus on the brutalities themselves. As a result, it doesn't fully commit to either path.
The tension wavers between moments of suspense and stretches of boredom, as development is foreseeable. There are major plot holes - like all gunfire suddenly stopping for a lengthy "hero speech" in the middle of a battle - that break any immersion the show manages to build. Several eye-rolling moments undercut the stakes just when the suspense begins to work.
The romance is flat and underdeveloped, more of a checkbox than a believable emotional arc. It feels like the writers couldn't decide what kind of story they wanted to tell - monster horror, historical drama, or tragic romance - and so the series ends up doing none of them particularly well.
A more coherent arc could've focused first on the human experimentation that gives rise to the monster, leading to a revenge-driven alliance with the resistance movement. That kind of structure might have given the show real emotional and narrative weight.
Verdict: Stylish and full of potential, but let down by weak writing, lack of focus, and too many narrative missteps. Disappointing.

The World of the Married is a raw, emotionally intense drama that goes far beyond a typical affair storyline. It offers a deep psychological look into betrayal, emotional dependency, and the destructive behavior triggered by separation. The performance of the lead actress is outstanding-her strength and vulnerability carry the series. The supporting cast is equally strong, with particularly impressive performances by the junior actors, who bring emotional nuance and authenticity to their roles, despite their age.
The soundtrack heightens the tension perfectly, and the storytelling is bold and unapologetic. One of the drama's standout qualities is its sharp social commentary-it fearlessly exposes the double standards applied to adulterous or divorced men and women. It also explores how children are caught in the crossfire of adult conflicts, often reduced to tools rather than treated as individuals.
That said, episodes 7 and 8 pushed the intensity too far for my taste, leaning heavily into destructiveness that felt excessive at times. The persistent lack of honest communication with the child was also frustrating. Some characters-especially those in positions of trust-cross professional and ethical boundaries, which may unsettle viewers.
Despite these concerns, the drama remains gripping, emotionally rich, and ends on a believable, satisfying note. For viewers who appreciate complex characters, psychological depth, and a fearless critique of societal norms, this is a must-watch.
⭐ Rating: 8.5/10.
