This reality show is actually quite tense and interesting, showing how far people will push their physical and mental limits whilst also disregarding their basic moral principles and back stabbing each other, especially their closest friends all for some cash that's not even guaranteed in any way whatsoever to the most physically fit, mentally capable, honest or respectful person in the group. This show does one thing right and that is keeps us on the edge of our seats. I can't believe how much of a gamble these real life contestants are willing to make on their mind, body, reputation and their souls, all for a little bit of cash that's far from guaranteed - for these reasons I find the show very interesting because it is a test of one's character and what one is willing to do for just a chance of a few hundred thousand dollars. Some of the activities the hikers are required to complete to move on forward are also very tense and creates an entertaining element to the show. I've been hooked to the show from the beginning and will be finishing it off this week. Looking forward to the finale and seeing which hikers make it to the top of the mountain summit in the New Zealand Southern Alps range.

Having recently watched this film again I really can't understand the hate around it. Maybe it has something to do with the extreme production and shooting stuffs up there were on set, Foxx's overly precious attitude to making an action flick, Farrell's daily drunken and drugged up turn up to work or maybe even Mann's frequent changes to the script resulting in poor planning. Regardless its a bloody masterpiece nonetheless. In fact Farrell is flawless and delivers every line with utter perfection. The story is relatively easy to follow but yet it spends so much time on character development and I was so invested and concerned for the characters in the movie myself.

As Farrell's love interest tells him 'Time is Luck' meaning he should know when to stop, particularly when ahead as you never know when the tables turn against you so quickly - you could be injured, die or be arrested any day...once you're ahead it's better to quit.

In the end enough is done to close the loop on the initial villains introduced and for the characters to learn some valuable lessons about their personal and professional lives conflicting and ultimately colliding head on, all whilst watching some of the most intense and emotional Mann-esque drama and action scenes that have been filmed in almost the last 20 years. The action sequences and the the soundtrack throughout the film are simply epic to say the least and one thing is for sure throughout which is that all the mishaps of pre production and filming were certainly not evident in the final cut - this movie is as realistic as they come whether it is a close resemblance to the TV series let's just put that aside for a minute because who really cares if the movie is really that good? The movie sent chills down my spine at certain points due to the intense development of characters and feeling of empathy for them - I think it is about time that Mann regained his confidence after this failed in perspective only film which I personally think is almost as great a masterpiece as Heat is in its own right.

As good and original as season 1 was after watching season 2 it appears s1 merely created a lot of background context and s2 built on it every way possible.

S2 moves to much more emotion, violence, espionage and drama with so much more backstory about how the two worlds came to be and indigo, the terror group from the other side.

This show may be about 2 'worlds' but it may as well be about 2 countries the way that management 'negotiate' terms is so chilling to reality.

In the end all this war and chaos simply because on 'one family feud' as Jk Simmons puts it...the evil doings of human nature, science and greed.
