Throughout this gem, the audience were taken along with the central characters' lives, first seeing things from the point of view of the betrothed gentleman, then sympathising with his girlfriend's blind stepdaughter! I laughed, I cried...the lows were pretty low, but the highs between were sweet and freequent enough to keep people transfixed.
I saw this last week in the Melbourne International Film Festival, and loved the way it really moved along. The style was so European and smooth, surprising (especially the lip-synch cross-dressing cabaret) and the audience went up and down with the central character's moods. SEE IT!
This goes down as one of the WORST films I have seen, and I feel a fool now for staying to the end (to see if anything resolved)! The characters were annoying, especially that lady with the bad blonde wig that went backwards into the lake. It looks like a David Lynch-wanna be film student got lucky with some funding, paid his friends a bit then went to an uncle's farm to shoot the film. NOT WORTH IT!!
