Warfare offers a raw, unfiltered perspective on war, stripped of the glory and spectacle so common in the genre. There's no dramatic speech from a president, no grand moral framing just a quiet, relentless order to act, and the dread that comes with risking your life for a cause you're not even sure you understand.
From start to finish, the film is filled with a haunting sense of unease. There are no heroes here, no superhumans coming to the rescue only men trying to survive, unraveling slowly as the days drag on. The psychological toll becomes unbearable, and as a viewer, you're left not just with the soldiers' exhaustion, but with the thought of innocent families being woken in the night and forced into basements - for what, exactly?
The film ends in the best way possible: with a sense of nothingness. No grand resolution, no change only bodies, ruined homes, and the quiet continuation of an operation like so many others. The direction is intentionally disoriented and bleak, echoing the chaos and senselessness of war itself.
