I rarely write reviews, but Retro compelled me to speak out - mostly out of frustration. This film is hands down one of the worst-directed movies I've watched in 2025. The director completely failed to deliver anything close to a coherent story. It honestly felt like he took random scenes from a bunch of outdated movies, stitched them together without thought, and called it a film.
The lead actor, Suriya, looked more like a clueless caricature than a hero. There wasn't a single moment where I could connect to his character - no emotional depth, no proper arc, just an empty performance in a badly written role. As for the heroine, there's barely anything worth mentioning. At this point, I've stopped expecting substance or strength in female characters from many Indian directors - and this movie is another prime example of that problem.
The film had no soul, no originality, and no purpose. It dragged on like a YouTube mashup of failed ideas, offering zero engagement. I'm just relieved I didn't waste my money watching this in a theater - that would've been an unforgivable disaster.
It's honestly confusing how movies like this still get made. With all the talent and creativity out there, why are we still being served recycled trash like Retro.
Watch only if you enjoy punishing yourself.

I watched 28 Degree Celsius on OTT, and honestly, it was a complete disaster from start to finish. The plot made no sense, the direction was all over the place, and the acting felt like a school play gone wrong. At times, I couldn't even tell what emotion the scene was supposed to convey - laughter, sadness, confusion? Probably all at once, unintentionally.
Some of the dialogues felt like they were written five minutes before the shoot. The background score tried to build tension, but all it built was a headache. I kept checking the time, hoping it would end soon - and I watched it from the comfort of my couch!
I have no idea how much money it made, but if there's one thing I'm sure about: the producer is definitely not calling this director again. I wouldn't recommend this film even if you offered me free whiskey, biryani, and a foot massage.
It's a masterclass in how not to make a movie. Watch only if you're into self-torture - or writing a thesis on bad cinema.

HIT 3 was a massive letdown. The story is poor, the screenplay is even worse, and the whole psychological angle they tried to push with the lead character just wasn't executed well at all. It felt forced and unconvincing.
Let's talk about the movie length - why are we still making 2.5+ hour films with so much filler? This movie could've easily been wrapped in 1.5 to 2 hours. The slow-motion scenes, random action sequences, and unnecessary hero elevations made it painful to sit through. It's honestly becoming a sickness in Tollywood - every movie trying to glorify the lead actor for no reason.
Even the acting didn't help - the lead performance felt flat and unmemorable. There was no emotional connection, and the character development was paper-thin.
Dear Tollywood filmmakers: Please cut the crap. Focus on writing a strong story. We are fed up with slow-motion walks, elevation music, and stylized fight scenes that do nothing for the plot. It's becoming freaking boring to watch these kinds of movies. We want good content, not recycled formulas.
Final rating: 3/10 - only for the production quality and a few decent technical aspects. The rest? Forgettable.
