The first 3 episodes you think.. oh no, not another show about.. but, it get's better from episode 4 and on. Story could still easily be told in 4 episodes but to be fair, it is not nearly as bad as the first 3 episodes make you suspect. Not great, but still entertaining. Most actors are solid, but the acting by Julianne is great!

If you want to be entertained with a series with Bond vibes in beautifull locations changing rapidly, but also want abelieveable storyline where nothing goes as planned with characters growing with each episode, then you should not miss this one. All the actors are acceptable, but the main characters are superior, both Eddie and Lashana are simply outstanding in the way they make their multi layered characters come alive. They both have bad and good sides and everything inbetween. In part due to a solid script but mostly just because of the fantastic acting.
Ozark was kinda a solid copy of Breaking bad and Better call Saul, but never near as good. The day of the Jackel series is a great remake of the earlier, lesser movies. Great script with an good eye for character development and detail. Perhaps not as good as Breaking bad and Better call Saul, but much better then Ozark and most other good series ever!

Extremely flat characters, feels like the scriptis written by a five year old. Not one believable dialogue or action in the whole series. Normally the viewers have to catch up while the story unpacks itself. This series work the other way around. Everything that's bleeding obvious for anyone with an average IQ or higher comes as a overwhelming surprise to the main characters. It lacks logic, humor and intelligence. Maybe AI wrote a lot of reviews for this series because anyone who really likes this must be either mentally challenged or no older then 15. There a so many good and believeable stories to tell on this subject, sadly this is not one of them.
