Top of class:
* Unique animations for death are a fantastic touch.
* Truly is an odd, eerie setting.
Good:
* 2d/ 3d view was interesting.
* Sound design, especially in the water, is great * Sense of fear around the water is well done * Swimming physics crisp
Bad:
* world is overall uninteresting and vague * puzzle design is hit or miss * Color tone is almost too dark in some areas
Verdict: Overall, this feels like a "best iPad game" rather than top game of all time. If you want a puzzler or a platformer there are better titles to scratch the itch.

Good:
* Combat is tight * One of few video games that evoke a sense of true exploration * World is beautiful * Environments are varied * Weapon variety insane * Enemy variety incredible * Travel is well implemented * Map is absolutely huge
Ok:
* Boss design is great at the beginning, tails off towards the end * UI is clunky, but not obtrusive * Platforming puzzles can be hit or miss due to the game not being a platformer
Bad:
* Quests are impossible to follow (or even find) without looking them up * The game overstays its welcome, the last few areas are horribly tuned with re-used enemies and bosses in which your character will be one-shot by almost any enemy.
* Some of the end game bosses are almost unfair at points * Large bosses have camera issues * The spirit ashes become a crutch for the developers and the player, turning bosses that are built for spirit ashes into MMO-style fights where the goal is to manage aggro, not memorize movesets. In many cases this can lead to the RNG of aggro / move set on the spirit ash (especially the mimic) deciding if a boss fight is won or lost.
Verdict:
The first 90 hours are one of the best experiences in gaming. The last 5 or 6 hours overextend the game and highlight its flaws. Even so, the game will be remembered as one of the greatest ever.

Good:
* Gunplay is solid as always * Writing is mostly a hit * Found the voice acting to be well done
Ok:
* Enemy variety is average * Side quests can be as fun as the main quest * Chaos chambers end game is a good way to extend the game * Game is a good length, doesn't over-extend its welcome * Story is fine, villain is interesting
Bad:
* Music almost didn't feel like it existed * Pop-in texture all over the place in * Game is largely way too easy for anyone with any FPS experience * Bosses are extremely forgettable for the most part.
Verdict:
Borderlands 2 remains the king of the series.
