Sinners is an absolute gem. It's a brilliant period piece that immediately draws you into its world. The music throughout the film is fantastic and deserves special mention, it's surprising that it wasn't marketed as a musical (tho understandable), because the many musical scenes are some of the highlights. The songs are truly memorable and add so much depth to the atmosphere and characters.
The plot and cast are incredibly interesting. I loved how the Vampires were portrayed with a very modern twist in their appearance, while still respecting and using the old classic clichés when it came to fighting them. It was a wonderful balance between fresh ideas and nostalgic traditions.
The villain, Remmick, was fascinating, and I especially loved the duality shown through the hive mind concept connected to the vampires. What stood out the most was that the Vampires didn't come across as inherently evil. Remmick's ideology was sadly comprehensible and, at times, even sympathetic, which made the story all the more compelling, due to the modern time parallels. .
I enjoyed every single second of this movie and honestly wish I could experience it for the first time again. Sinners is a heartwarming, heartbreaking, scary, interesting, and sexy story, all wrapped into one. A truly unforgettable experience.
The political message of togetherness, and the experience of excluded groups was truly beautiful and moving, and I hope we can see many more movies created by Black content creators.

Critics really misled people about this movie. I, just like many others, thought The Empty Man would be something along the lines of The Bye Bye Man, just a terrible popcorn flick that is underwhelming, the twists totally obvious, and the movie in general boring.
But when I found out that other people recommended it and I watched it myself, I realized it is actually a modern masterpiece.
You do not see the twists coming. The cinematography is very Fincheresque. I was not bored for one minute of the over two-hour long movie. It was absolutely fantastic. I am very, very sad and disappointed about how critics misled the public and how Disney tried to destroy this masterpiece.
Everybody should watch it. The movie is truly great with a totally new and intriguing concept. It is more in the cerebral-cosmic section of horror.
I give it a 10 / 10, because I think I have to equal out the negative reviews.

Even as someone who isn't on the JLo fan wave, I must confess: her latest musical venture captured my heart in a uniquely campy and utterly crazy way! Let me be clear-it's not a case of "it's so bad, it's good." Far from it. This musical is a non-stop entertainment rollercoaster, perfectly blending the light-hearted with the more serious. JLo is hilariously lost, bringing a refreshing self-awareness without skimping on addressing the deeper currents running through her life.
And if that wasn't enough to hook you, my man Neil deGrasse Tyson's cameo as a zodiac sign is nothing short of a scene-stealing, cosmic 11/10 experience. 😂😂😂
In an era where skepticism often takes center stage, I urge you to leap off the bandwagon and give this thing a shot. With just a bit over an hour of runtime, it's a compact yet entertaining package of joy that promises-and delivers-a much-needed escape into enjoyment.
I also stand corrected on my take on JLo. Beyond her sassy and talented persona lies a hopelessly lost romance ADDICT, a revelation that adds depth to her already character. Here's to her finding the happiness she deserves and continuing to evolve.
Oh, and let's not forget-the cinematography? Absolutely stunning.
