This show is great in almost every aspect but one. The one area that I'm not to fond about is that Ron "Opie" Howard has some dealings with this show in it's direction. I have an extreme hatred of him because of his stance that all movies should be shown as it was made, either Lerrte Boxed or in Wide Screen format. This is all well and good, if you happen to own a home that you can have your own movie theater in, but most people don't have that luxury. You can take a particular movie and show it on one channel and it is full screen, then several week later on a different channel, then is is shown in the letter boxed format. If this technique is possible on one channel and not on the other, then I say that it is possible to have a full screen version also available for the general public.

I just finished seeing the final installment of the mini series "Into The West", and I was quite taken with the Indian nation was treated as a whole. As in any mini series, there will always be some fiction, but now I have a new appreciation for the way the Indian nations were treated as a people. My wife is part Cherokee, and a mixture of everything else, but my heart went out to the Lakota people, and to the entire Indian nation for the way they were treated by the white race. These were a race of very simple people, who just wanted to be left alone, but progress and greed got in their way, and this mini series made me sick that we could do this to any human being. I wish I could turn back the hands of time, because I would fight on their side against my own people, simply because these are probably the only honest people in this country. The one thing that did come out of this series is the dishonesty of our own government, we make an agreement, then we break it because it serves a purpose.

This film was an excellent portrayal of the radio broadcast and the actor who played Orson Wells did an excellent job. The sound effects at the radio station was unbelievable accurate as to the sound of an alien space craft both landing and the sound of the hatch coming off, very scare as was suppose to happen especially back in the 30's. The acting to go along with the radio broadcast was out of sight. This was a very entertaining movie and i wish it was also available on video as stated by Mike Spangler, if that is not possible than it should be made available to be shown on TV again, so people could record it as I did some years ago, but have a very poor copy of. If this is available to be replayed on TV, than this Halloween should be appropriate to re-broadcast this fine movie
