I decided to watch this film because of the big movie stars in it - for example Ben Kingsley, Martin Short, Sir Peter Ustinov and of course the lovely Tina Majorino, which by the way in my opinion is one of the most gifted and talented young stars in Hollywood. But I forgot the big names in the moment I saw this breathtaking special effects and the warm colors of the movie. It is a pleasure also for your eyes to watch it. This film isn't only for children. I think also some scenes are not for children. But the funny and bizarre story is told very entertaining. I think this movie is a "must" for every fan of fantastic stories. I loved it.
Who knows the past films of Roberto Benigni, knows that they in most cases are very funny, but no deep pieces. They were in Italy genuine Blockbuster, but outside of this country unknown. Not with "Life is Beautiful". This film comes the realism of the life infinitely near. The first half of the film is a beautiful, romantic and funny dear story in the Benigni style with happy end. Here the world still is correct, although in the background already the antisemitism of the early 30's broad-makes itself. Now the leading characters are suddenly torn from their luck and deported into a concentration camp. The true badness of fascism shows up, and the laughter remains being to one in the neck. The scenes, as the father for its son arranges the whole fright of the concentration camp as play and never let him doubt that the life is beautiful, are unbelievable touching. "Life is Beautiful" lets the whole spectrum of human feelings beautiful revive.
Mille grazie, Roberto!

" Die Apothekerin " - a film, which stands out against some German productions of the last years doing good. The three main persons of the action were greatly filled: The cool Katja Riemann as pharmacist, which is rather innocently entangled into the events, Jürgen Vogel as a somewhat eccentric and sometimes calculating medical student Levin and Richy Müller as convict and its friend lets arise at no time boredom. The film is characterised not only by interesting characters, but also by its great black humor. Result: A genuine pleasure.
