Classificação de Michael J Olson
First off it was a pretty good story with some good acting. Bruce Greenwood as Eugene Morgan gave this film a big lift with an inspiring portrayal of an aspiring "Henry Ford". Madeleine Stowe gave her usual fine performance along with James Cromewell solid as the family patriarch. But from here it is a downward slide. Jennifer Tilley as Aunt Fanny only is capable of an unrealistic crying in every other scene, usually for no apparent reason and Jonathon Rhys-Meyers acting is non-existent and totally non-believable. I watched this on A and E cable so I guess I got what I paid for. With a better Director and more actual acting this could have been a much better picture. I am sure that this screenplay written by Orson Welles has him turning in his grave!!
It seemed like I watched a special on drugs on CNN. The acting was average but I didn't feel like I was watching a story, more like a news event. I certainly did not get any emotional reaction from this movie.
This film seems to fit somewhere in the middle of sci-fi films. It's certainly not in same class as the Star Trek films. On the other hand Red Planet is certainly better than Mission to Mars or Lost in space. There are certainly many flaws if you pay any attention to details but, it was ok to watch. 6 out of a possible 10!!!
